A great example of how a flimsy premise will hobble a movie. Also, just a great movie. Get the podcast: Listen here at PopD | Go to iTunes

First off, thanks for having this one the list. I’d never seen it before and I really did enjoy it. The character/ actor combinations are phenomenal. That said, I agree with y’all about the premise. I was glad to see that Sandra Bullock’s character really did try to tell the truth at the beginning but there really were so many times she could’ve made things right. I wonder if one way to fix the problem with her goal would be to marry The Proposal with While you Were Sleeping – that way she needs to be the fiancee to stay in the country, but she unintentionally falls in love with the family. That way it could take the strong premise and use the ending from WYWS. Just a thought – since they’re much the same movie anyway. I figure some film student could cut them together scene by scene.
Again, I haven’t listened to the pod cast before commenting, but I will say that this is my favorite on the list. I’d give it a 6 if I could.
Kelly, we were ready to give it a 5. And then we talked about it. But it’s still a really, really good movie.
And welcome, Cori!
